MUNICIPAL CONFERENCE.
jPer Press A =?<? Nation.) ' WELLINGTON, Sept. 12
A deputation from the Muncipal Conference waited upon the Prime Minister and the Minister of Internal Affairs to-day. The speakers indicated that the remits passed by the Conference would be forwarded to the Ministers concerned, with the hope that action would be taken on the lines indicated.
In reply, Mr. Massey said he had not had an opportunity of reading the remits yet, but would so do with the object of making those of which Parliament approved into legislation as soon as possible. He knew from previous experience that remits passed by the Conference were usually received with approval by Parliament and the Government of the country, for they contained exceedingly valuable suggestions.
The Hon. Hine spoke briefly, indicating that he would be glad to avail himself of the assistance offered by the Conference.
