COMMERCIAL.

Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report at Feilding Sale on the 29th insfc., we had a, good yarding of both sheep and cattle, which sold at late rates. We quote:—

Sheep.—Fat wethers £2 to £2 10/3; fat b.f. hoggets 27/6 to 2h/3; fat ewes £29/4 to £2; empty ewes 17/5 to 19/4; mixed hoggets 29/ to 32/; small hoggets 16/6 to 21/6.

Cattle.—Fat cows £11 15/ to £16; forward cows £7 5/ to £7 10/; store cows £5 5/ to £7 10/; yearling heifers £3 1/ to £5; weaners 30/ to £2.

as it is affecting the pier it is now fastened to. -■ It is proposed to lift the swing trrss and repair it, bring the camber up to 2ft 6in instead of the present sag of 18in., also put itt two additional ropes and re-support j the towers. In the truss spans several new flitches are required, in the lower chords, also a new corbel mo cap over pile, and a number of ironbark thrust blocks. Enumerating the spans from west as A. B. and C. I estimate the cost of repairs as fol. lovs:: Span A, 80ft truss, £100; span B. 80ft. truss, £65; span C, 240 ft, suspension, £3 35. Total repairs, and additions, £500. This expend!ture should place the whole bridge in a position to carry all ordinary settlers' traffic, except a concentrated load of over 5 tons.
