A PRECOCIOUS BOY.
"WANTS TO SEE NEW ZEALAND."
(Per Press Association.)
AUCKLAND, May 14
A boy, aged about twelve years, is at present at the Salvation Army Home while the police are endeav-^ ouring to locate his parents. As far as can be gathered, the lad comes from Christchurch. He was given money by his mother to purchase some boots, but, desiring to see more of New Zealand, boarded the ferry boat at Lyttelton instead, and travelled to Wellington. Here he fell in with two soldiers, who, on being told that he wished to see some relatives in Auckland, paid his railway fare. They kept a friendly eye on the lad after his arrival, but as far as they can gather, he has no relatives here. He was therefore handed over to the police for safe keeping pending further information.
