Lord French's narrative in the "Daily Telegraph" repudiates responsibility for the events in Belgium in early October, when the fall of Antwerp was imminent owing to Lord Kitchener influencing operations and taking the troops in the north out Of Lord French's control. Lord French criticises the plans to relieve Antwerp. He says Lille, Ostend, and even Zeebrugge, might have been saved if troops from England had landed three days earlier.
