The barquentine Senorita, with ji cargo of white pine, got away for Sydney at 8.40 a.m. yesterday. Tho Tainui, which left Picton at 1.0 pSm. yesterday, is expected on this morning's tide.. The JnvercargiH is due at Welhngv ton to-day from Lyttelton, and sails for this port to-morrow. Further news pf the wreck of the schooner Awanui shows that she anchored at Alofa on January 7th. The tables parted during a hurricane, which swept the vessel over the reef. The crew, realising the danger, left t:.<i Vessel when the cable parted, and -got ashore with considerable diffl-

tons gross and 5600 tons net, was conKtrlvcted for the Oceanic S.N. Company (■('White Star /Line) by Harlnnd and Wolff, Ltd., Belfast. She has three decks, and is' 460 ft. long by 58ft. m beam.* Her engines, which were provided by thu builders of the vessel, consist of four steam' turbines geared on to tw<> screw shafts. The communication with regard to the vessel received by th« Shipping Board indicates that sne will leftve England this month with troops for Australia. The Vedic, although a large steamer, is several thousand tons .smawller than the Ceramic #f the same line.
