CONCRETE FURNITURE.
There have been the stone age, the wooden age, the steel nge, and now we sire on the threshold or the concrete age. The wooden walls in which Nelacn fought are mere-cockleshells when f empared with the titanic steel meii-of-war that beat the enemy at Jutlanrl, find it is quite safe to predict that these. in their turn will be immeasurably surpassed by the future super-Dread-nought constructed of reinforced concrete. One great advantage of this new material is the ease with which it can be handled. A suitable pattern has only lo be made, and any number of like ships can ue turned out by simply running the concrete into the same .mould. HOUSEd IN PLENTY. | The material is equally suitable for the construction of houses, ajud here again the rapidity with which they can l:o constructed is amazing, and if properly applied could do miu-h to solve the present housing shortage. The writer recently saw some ordinary -house-hold fnrniture, chairs, tables, and cupboards made or concrete. Contrary to supposition the articles were wonderfully artistic; and fragile in appearance, and quite*serviceable.
