Mr Ginnell attempted to address a meeting at Athlone. which is a proclaimed dren. Police broke up the gathering, and chargoc' with fixed bayonets. Many w^re injured. The crowd, sought ihe shelter of a rhorch. but later assumed a threatening; attitude. Mr Ginnell, nmid irtensf- excitement, ineffectively attempted to speak in various parts of the town.
