FEILDING SALE.
Dalgety and Co., Ltd., Palmerston North, report having a very fair yarding of both sheep and cattle at their B'eUding sale on Friday, the 9fch inst. There was goad competition for all the better class sheep, but all cattle were dull of sale. Quotations: Small lambs 7s 2d; good lambs to 14s 8d; mixed age ewes lls 2d to 14» 4d; forward wethers 295; 4 and 5-year ewes m lamb 21s. 3d. ; ~ Cattle: Weaners £2: yearling steers £3 10s; 18-month steers £5 16s; 15----vonth heifers £5; 2j-year do. £6 15s; cow r.w.b. £7.
The Wairarapa Farmers' Co-Oper-ative Association, Ltd., stock department, Pahiatua, report on their annual autumn cattle fair, held on Monday, sth inst., as follows: — A good yarding of all classes of cattle came forward, close on 2000 head ! being penned. Prices were decidedly I easy throughout in sympathy with late market reports, but vendors were prepared to meet the drop, and about 1200 head were disposed of out of the tptal entry. Buyers were pres- , ent from Rangitikel, Wanganui, Manawatu, Hawke's Bay and Wairarapa, the bulk of the purchases being secured by Manawatu buyers. Some splendid/lines of Hereford, Shorthorn and P.A. 2-yr. off steers, about 200 in number, sold on account of Mr. A. G. Herbert of Pongaroa, at from £10 4s 6d to £10 15s. These cattle were considered good buying by those present. Other principal sales were: ,150 grown bullocks, various liLes, £10 15s, £12, £14 15s to £15, 46 P.A. cows with calves at foot, £13 ssf 65 fat cows (lots) £9 10s to £12; 57 rising 2-yr. Hereford and Shorthorn heifers in. calf £*4 12s 6d. £4 15s to £5 17s 6d; store cows sold at ffom £3 to £7 ss; 31 2%~yr. Hereford cross heifers In calf £7 7s 6d; 60 20-mos. P.A. heifers to £6 6s; 87 20-mos. steers up to £8 '8s; mixed sex weaners (well bred) sold at from £3 2s 6d to £4 ss; ordinary lines at late rates.
