THE GRAND
"THE HOUSE OF GLASS."
A Select drama, "The House of Glass," with Clara Kimball Young in the leading role, will be screened for the first, time at the Grand at the matinee this afternoon. Margaret Case, played by Miss Young, although innocent of any real complicity in the crime, spends a year and a half in prison as an accomplice of Burke, whom she was ftbout to marry when they were both arrested for a jewel robbery. When slip was paroled she disappeared from New York, ond returned ten years later as Mrs Harvey Lake, the wife of a successful railroad manager. One of the detectives who arrested Margaret Case recognises her, and she tells her husband the whole story, and he finally succeeds i'l securing her pardon from the Governor. Tliis action clears the sky all round, and in the final close-up all ends happily. The dresses are said to be of the most elegant type. Supports include Pathe's latest Gazette, a capital Triancle comedy "The Bookworm Turns," and an official war picture showing the Bedford and Norfolk Regiments. Intending patrons are adviced to secure seats at Upton's, or go early. "The House of Glass" has proved a big draw at the King's Theatre, Wellington, and the Strand Theatre, Auckland.
