BOROUGH COUNCIL COMMITTEES.

APPOINTMENT OF CHAIRMEN.

At the meeting of the newlyelecfed Wanganui Borough Council last night it was decided to group several of the former committees and to eliminate.others. Chairmen "were elected as follows, the personnel to be completed later: —

Works, Sanitation and Cemetery.— Cr. Spriggens.

Reserves, Baths and Opera House —Cr. Richardson.

Gas Committee.—Cr. Williams* Tramways and Power.—Cr. Green. Finance.—Cr. Sharpe. Sarjeant Gallery Committee.—The Mayor.

Library Committee. —Cr. Aitken. Milk Supply Committee., — Cr Cower.

Municipal Housing Committee. — Cr. Thompson. »

The following committees were eliminated:— Ceremonial, By-laws, Parliamentary, Suburbs.
