In another column the Returned Soldiers' Association publishes an important notice regarding rumours which have been set afloat in regard to Sergt. G. iMcAneny's capture by the Turks. *^!ie President of the Association states:—We have made it our business to maiie the fullest possible inquiries i» this statement from men who took part in the engagemenCin which Sergt. McAneny was captured, and are satis* tied that the statement is entirely false, that the ciraainstaiices of the capture rejected, no discredit on Sergt. McAnen/S courage or .military honour, and that the capture was a misfortune such as might occur to any brave and honourable soldier. A Court of inquiry was held on the matter at lsiDailia, in Egypt, on Sergt. McAneny'9 return from captivity, in accordance with the universal practice in such case, and tho result was to entirely exonerate him.
