WANGANUI EAST, Monday, 28tf inst. WANGANUI BOROUGH, Tuesday 29 eh inst. MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS. • TO THE BURGESSES OF WANGANUI. AT the request of numerous friend.; and supporters, I desire to intimatj that I have again consented to bte norm nated for the position of Councillor a1 the forthcoming Municipal Elections and if you do me the honour of re-elect-ing me I shall do my best, as I hay* done during my six years on the Coun oil, for the progress and prosperity o! Wanganui.—Yours faithfully, W. S. DUSTIN. TO THE BURGESSES OF WANGANUI. I BEG to offer myself as a Candidate ior Counoiiior on the Boroagu Council, and I am sure that my past ftrur years' service on the Council warrant my promising that if elected I shall continue to support a progressive policy, as heretofore. During the war period we went through a very strenuous tniie and certainly the progress made was not as satisfactory as one could wish. However,. I shall do my very utmost to vsee that all Roads in the Borough receive that attention which is very necessary. Sanitary affairs are noiw ib a much more satisfactory state than when I took over the Chairmanship of the Sanitation Committee, and we are <iaily increasing its efficiency. I claim that I was instrumental in installing the weekly collection of refuse throughout the Borough, and also the ! inauguration of an up-to-date Destruct- ! or. I am.a strong advocate for greater i facilities for Sports and PleasiireGrounds. I have for years advocated converting Laird's Park into a Sportg Ground for Wanganui, and if elected will, I think, see this work done in time for next season. I think the .Building of Workers' Cottages quite a necessity, and will do all in my power to further this movement. •.A. A. GOWER. WANGANUI HARBOUR BOARD. ;rpO;MY-F^BIiOW^GM^NS^*i -^ ~ I have pleasure in submitting myself as a Candidate for a sea* on tlie Harbour Board My object, if elected to the Board, will be purely progressive, as I consider that the Port is going to be the main factor in furthering the interests of Wanganui and District. To facilitate the shipment of our produce by overseas steamers, the establishment of the Harbour at Castlecliffr should be pushed ahead by every practical means. One of my main objects in seeking election is to further the project of bringing any boats, which may be brought over the Bar, ultimately to Wanganui itself, as I feel sure the Port itself should be as near the town as possible. To eater for the country trade it will be necesary to keep the transhipping charges as low as possible. , I am strongly of opinion that the control of the wharves and foreshore should be taken over by the Board. Yours faithfully, A. S. BURGESS. ARAMOHO BOATING CLUB. fTiHE Annual Smoke Concert and Prize- •*- Givirrj; will be held in the Ara*moho' Boat-house on SATURDAY, the 26th inst. Admission • Tickets 2/6.
