SYDNEY, March 29

In view of the continued serious spread of influenza and the increasing death-rate, restrictions are being further tightened. A number or schools have been closed. Emergency preparations include taking over a number of public buildings for hospital purposes. Infected areas now include many country districts.

The latest reports from Victoria 3how there is renewed vitality and an increase in the number of deaths, though this may be a temporary spurt. Soutli Australia i&nd Tasmania both report that the plague is getting a wider hold. There are a number of deaths.
