HUGE PAYMENT FOR WOOL.

WELLINGTON, January 23

Possibly the largest sum ever paid in one day for New Zealand wool was disbursed to-day to those concerned by the Imperial Supplies Department. The payments aggregate £635,921. The next largest payment made in one day was also for wool, viz., £558,133, on 28tli December, 1917.
