CHAIRMAN OF WELLINGTON HARBOUR BOARD CONGRATU-
LATES WANGANUI
Writing on New Year's D,ay to Mr. A. G. Bignoll, chairman of the Wanganui Harbour Board, Mr. Charles E. Daniell, chairman of the Wellington Harbour Board, says:—
"I nc-te in this morning's 'Dominion' it hat your dredge is now about to be released nnd that you have a good ptu&peoj- of seeing the vessel at work nt Wanganui. May I heartily congratulate 3*ou on your promptitude in tnjs, and your persistence in the good work you are doing for the nation by devel_ oping one of its waterways. Hoping that you are enjoying improved health, which will enable you to face the New Year's work with your wonted enthusiasm.—Believe 'm«e to be yours faithfully, Chas. E. Daniell."
The following telegram was sent to the Hon. Sir James Allen, ActingPrime Minister, on Saturday last: — "Dredge Kaione. —Your telegram 28th. —Harbour Board have decided to ask yon cable High Commissioner., Board accepts Kaione on terms of Admiralty cable, find requests Admiralty to «irran<re transport Kaione to WallingtAn at. Board'! cost, effecting insurance to full insurabl'B value.—Wanganui Har^ bour Board."
Sir Jamas 'Allen replied: "Have cab'ed .your request to Admiralty."
