SCOTCH DAY.
The Patriotic Red Cross Shop will he open on Wednesday nest. 9th. inst., in charge of Mrs T. C. Taylor, Mrs John McFarlane, and Miss Roberts. The shop will be converted for the time being into a real Scottish rallying point, for tlj<" array of Scottish cookery in all its branches is bound to attract the children of the heather and their descendants. Tiie competitions are as follows :—Best billy loaf, Mr Warr.oek's prizo of ss; home-made bread, D. McFarlane's prize of lOs 6d; sausage rolls, Mrs Taylor's prize of ss. Sponge .sandwich, Mr Warnock's prize of ss; jam tarts, Mrs Taylor's prize of se. Shortbread, Miss Roberts' prize of ss; cocoanut ice, Miss llob&rts' prize of ok; family cako (D. MoKarl/uio and Co.'s prize of 10s 0d). Biscuits (Mr. Wamock'i: priea of ss) j girdle scones, ju'iKp os; oatcake?, prize sc-.
