STOCK SALE REPORTS

Dalge.ty and Co., Ltd., Palmerston North, report having a very fair yarding of both sheep and cattle at their Feildins galo on Friday last. Competition was good, and practically nil lines e-old. Quotations: —

Sheep: Small hoggets 22s Sd: mixod hoggets 28s to 33.s 6d; wethers 34s 2d; light i'at ewes 34s 6d ; mixed ewe s and lunalxs 35.=.

Cattje: Dairy cows £8 15s to £9 12s 6d; dairy heifers to £12 7s 6d; springing heifers to £15 17s 6d; springing cows to £16 15s. A line of 46 yearling Shorthorn steers, sold in conjunction with the New Zealand Loan and Mer. eantpe Agency Co., Ltd., realised £8, and 23 at £8* 3s.

Freeman H. Jackson and Co., Ltd., report as follows :—

During the past fortnight we have conducted clearing sales on account of Mr R. Power and" Mrs W. F. Mcßeth, »ko our usual Wanganui and Waverley sales.

At Mr Power's sale there was a good .attendance, and good prices were realised. There was keen competition for Mr Mcßeth's sheep and dairy ■cattle. At Wangamri we had a good yarding of cattle, but sheep were in smaller num. hers. Competition was hardly so keen. There was only a small yarding at Wav-e-rley. We quote : — At Mr Power's sale: Mixed hoggets 26s 7d to 27 S od; ewes with lambs by Ronmeys, 34s 6d to 375; yearling steers £5 9s to £7 7s 6d; heifers in calf:, £7. At Mrs Mcßeth's: Ewes with lambs by Soirthdowns, 345; dairy cows £14 10s to £20 2s 6d; yearling Jersey heifers £5 13s.

At Wanganui: Cattle. —Fat cows £9 6s to £11; store cows £6 to £7 3s; 2year steers £9 10s to £10 ss; weaners 2 gns t o £4; yearlings £6 ss. Sheep : Mixed hoggets 24s to 30s 9d; smaller 22s to 235; ewe s and lambs 29s 2d. Pigs: Porkers 41s to 445; heavier, £4; weaners 19s 6d to 245.

At Waverley: Mixed yearlings £5 2s 6d to 5 gns; empty cows £7 3s (id; weaners £3 15s to £4.

Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on the Marton'sale held last Tuesday: We iiad good yardings of both, sheep and cattle, and have to report a good sale. W e quote : M.S. hoggets 28s Id; fair ditto 2&> Id to 26s lOu; small do. to 19 S 9d; cull do. 7 S lid; b.f. ditto 26s to 26s 9d; fan- do. 21s iOd to 255; 2-th wethers 33s to 33s 9d; ewes and lambs 33s 3d to 365; store ewe s 16s; forward do. 23s 4d to 82s 6d; fat do. 33s to 345; yearling heifers £o 15s; yearling steers £5; m.s. weaners 2 gs; heifers and calves £7 7s 6d to £8; springing heifers £8 5s to £10; latb ditto £o to £7 2s 6d; best vfliiry cows £15 to 15 gs; good do. £11- to £12 10s; fair do. £9 to £10 15s; others £5 to £7.

TAIHAPE SALE. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report as follows: A small yarding of both cattle and sheep were submitted ?t Wednesday's fortnightly sale, the bulk of the entry Qf the sheep-j'ards comprising hoggets, which met with very k-een demand and a total clearance. We again succeeded in topping the market with a very nice line of hoggets en account of Mr H. Belk, Utiku, which made a record price for the Taihape yards this season, viz. : 209 wether hoggets at 32s 10d; 91 ewe hoggets at 31s Bd.

Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report: At Ptalmerston on the 3rd inst. %v*e had a small yarding of sheep and a good yarding of cattle. There was good competition for all lines of cattle. The prices ruling were as follows: Sheep—• Fat'b.f. hoggets 23s 6d; shorn h.k hog. gets 20 3 3d; small hoggets 14s. Cattle : Cows and calves £7 2s 6d; springing dairy cows £6 los to £17 los; store cows 6 gs; 20-month to 2-year empty heifers £5 Is to £7 19s ; yearling heifers £3 10s to £4 Is; yearling steers £3 10s

There was a good attendance of buyers, end the tone of the market was, if anything, better thanthe previous sale. The following prices were realised: Ewes and lambs to 34s 6d; hoggets 22s Id to 32s 10d; empty hei;Fers"to'£6 16s; 2*-year steers £8 to £9; yearling steers £4 los to £7 17s 6d; yearling heifers £4. 15s to £5 10s; springing heifers £7 10s to £11.

At our P.ilmerston North sale on Thursday we had a small .yarding of sheep and a good yarding of cattle. Sock sold freely at late rates.
