MONTHLY MEETING
At the monthly meeting held last evening, there were present: Commissioners A G. Bignell (chairman^* J. C. Arnold,' O C. Pleasants* R. G, Firth, H. Rice,'F. Webb Jones, N. Gilberd and H. Svenson. Leave of absence was granted Commissioner Cresswell. -
The Wanganui Borough Council notified the Board that it did not wish the period of the present agreement extended, for a further six months as impliod in the Board's letter, but wished to reduce the term of the notice from 12 months to six months —Received.
It was decided that painting and alterations be carried out at the Kiosk, Mr T. H. Battle to dra>w up the plans and specifications
The committee reported that the tender of Mr J. Moye £188) has been accepted for filling in the old gravel pit near the school at Castlecliff.
The clerk reported that the total car miles run during last month were 9 743, compared with 9725 the previous month, an<l 93 75 for the same month last year. The total for ten months was 101,855, as against 95,74 0 the same ten months in 1917. The number of car miles which have to bG run in 12 months
under the agreement with the Council is 110,000. The cost of car mileage last month was £3 78, and the revenue was £468 9s 10d. For three months the cost has been £1116, and the revenue £1386, a balance of £270, as against a profit of £158 for the same three months in 1917.
