At a meeting of the Hillside branch of the AvS.R.S. a_ motion condemning Mr Mack's action was lost, and a resolution was carried: "That, laving regard to the success attending Mr Mack's ■efforts during his term of office a s general secretary and his work in the for. /nation of the Transport Federation, the meeting considers him . admirabb fitted to represent Labour in Parlia* ment, and strongly urges the elector, of Wellington Central to vote in- hi favour."
