A PRESSING NEED.
] The establishment in Wanganui of a convalescent home for sick and wounded soldiers is a need which is becoming increasingly pressing, and is, indeed, already clamant. At the present time there are, we believe, some half-a-dozen [men who are urgently needing the care and attention j\"hich such an institution would provide. As the days go by the number must of necessity increase. Just now, however, it is the manifest duty of the responsible authorities to see to it that nob one man who has fought and suffered for his country ts permitted to go without the care ana comfort essential to his restoration to health. No good purpose is to be served iby procrastination. A beginning should be made at once by the acquisition, fitting up, and staffing of some suitable residence. This, is a matter in j which the Patriotic Association and the Hospital Board might well co-operate. We understand that the Association is ready and anxious to play its part, and if this is the case, then the responsibility for any unnecessary delay will rest upon the shoulders of the Board.
