Auckland; October so. ; The mystery attaching to the disappearance; from Dunedin on October 10th of a man and a young *irl, whose clothing was found on "the , beach* has been solved by the Auckland police. A married man named Henry Young, a labourer, aged 34, was arrested on Monday on a charge of wife desertion, and to-day was remanded to Dunedin. The girl, who Is barely 17, in a statement to the police, said that Young and she, ifter leaving their clothes on the beach, travelled by stages to Auckland under assumed names, and since "arrival here last Wednesday had lived as man and wife: The man obtained employment in the city, but . »n Monday surrendered to the police.
