The vessel referred to was a motor launch that arrived at Aituatx, Cook Islands, on August 31st Mr. Mays, for ihe Crown, contended mat the launch in question was a st**going vessel. James Percy. Hiding, Collector m. Uistoms, said a reporter called upoa him lor information regarding the launch, and -he -warned the reporter that, no information should be published until it was submitted to tfiie authorities.
Mr. McVeagh, for the defendants, submitted that the scope of the Emulations related not to such a vessel as a aunoh but to larger vessels. Counsel handed m a copy of the proclamation ot the Governor of TaEiti warning shipping of- danger in the Pacific. W. Leys, editor and director of the fitar, said that -when he received the ■report he considered it did not com^ within the Regulation.
