The .dumping of rubbish in this street has been stopped, and notice boards prohibiting the offence erected. For the beautifying of this street a separate fund was .created by a cohtnbutdon from the general fund, and this has been added to by a liberal response from interested residents and others. After paying for wor^. already done, v credit Dalance "of £31 remains. Maintenance will be a charge against this fund, and prospective work includes:— (a) Levelling and planting upper part of Taylor Street; (b) cleaning up and planting' left-hand side of zig-zag (going townwards); levelling, fencing, and planting right-hand side of Taylor Street as far as Watt Street corner.

WATER SUPPLY.—The Borough Council ihas instructed the Engineer to draw up a scheme for a permanent supply for fire-extinction purposes. LIGHTING.—Five new lamps have been erected during your Executive's term of office, and in response to its representations.
