Mr. M. McWilliams, B.Se_., Waitohi Falls, has been appointed to the staff of the Wanganui Technical College in place of Mr. Eden, resigned. •. Mr W. H. Lieut. F. A. Airey, who has died from wounds, was the sixth son of the late Mr. W. H. Airey, 'inspector of Schools, Auckland. Re was educated at the Auckland Grammar School and at the Auckland University College, where he gained his M.A. with firstclass honours in English and, French. In 1915 he was selected as the Auckland candidate for the Rhodes Scholarship, but failed to obtain that distinction: He was a master on the staff of the Auckland Grammar School until his appointment ■to a commission in the 22nd Reinforcements. He was for a number of years a mainstay of the University senior cricket team.
Mr R. B. Morris, Chief Inspector of the General Post Office, who has been rather seriously ill. is now on the high road to complete recovery, and expects to resume duty in the course of a few days.
