WASHINGTON, August 19. A total of 1,300,000 men ii:t?e volunteered for all lighting services since the declaration of war, and 448,850 have been accepted. The total volunteers now in actual service on both land and sea is 943,141. WASHINGTON, August 19.
The Government has accepted the Cuban offer to send American troops to Cuba for training. The troops will be available in the event of proGerman efforts to use Cuba as a submarine or wireless base.
WASHINGTON, August 19. Mr McAdoo has submitted to Congress a proposal for a n&w bond issue of 7,538,945,000 dollars at 4 per cent., for the purpose. of providing four billions of new loans to the Allies, and the retirement of the recent three billion 3i per cent, loan to the Allies.
