THE MORTAL SIN,">ND "DAVID COPPERETELD."
"The Mortal Sin," the five-part Metro wonder-play, in which dainty Viola Dana will be seen at Everybody's Theatre to-day, is a gripping melodrama of unusual interest. In "The Mortal Sin" Miss Dana has one of the greatest opportunities of her career, and she has taken full advantage of the possibilities offered. Th c part of Jane Anderson is replete with dramatic strength, and gives this vetsatile little star a chance to display her great emotional ability. The btory tells of the struggles of a young author, George Anderson, who has to eke out a misei'able existence by working as a clerk in the publishing office of a man to whom he is trying to sell his novel. His health fails, and his devoted wife implores him not to "burn the candLe at both ends" by working day and night. His novel deals with a wife's sacrifice of her honour to bring success to her husband, also a novelist. How the experience of his hero becomes the experience of George Anderson, the author himself, how the sacrifice of the woman of his novel becomes the sacrifice of Jane Anderson, is told in this powerful story of the present day. The supporting pictures include one o? Dickens' .famous works, "David CopPerfield," and a new and interesting "Co-operative Weekly Review."
