William Farnum once more brings mto play the marvellous strength and power cf his frame in the newest of Wm. Fox's pictures of the great North-, west. " The End of the Trail." In this .photoplay Farnum acts Jules L© Clerq a French-Canadian, factor in a Hudson's Bay. trading post. Le Clerq has fallen in love with ,a woman (Gladys Erockwell) whose husband (Willard Louis) has seized her and carried her away to a lonely life in the forests. Overcome by his brutality, she leaves his house, and learns that her husband has been left ..as dead by a treacherous Indian guide. She" marries Le Clerq. But Devil Cabot has been revived by prospectors, and arrives at the trading post just after a baby has been born to Adrienne and Jules. He enters their house, binds Jules and seizes Adrienne. Off into the deep woods he goes again j taking with him his wife and the child. Some months later she strikes "Devil" across the head with a heavy implement, and he falls to the floor in a heap: At th c door she meets Jules Le Clerq, who has been searching frantically for her. Jules takes the frail woman in his arms and carries her back to his house; but the excitement has been too much for her. Sh c dies after the long trip, and leaves her little girl in Jules' care. The first husband meets justice later at the hands of Le Clerq. The supporting pictures include "The House of Terrible Scandals" (a 2-reel comedy featuring Billy Ritchie), and the popular favourite. Marguerite Clark, in "Helene of the North," a picture which shows this dainty star at her best.
