ROUMANIANS' BLOODIEST BATTLE.

TENTH DAY REACHED.

HOLDING THE ENEMY,

Received August 19, 5.5 p.m. JASSY, August 18. The greatest and moat bloody battle the Roumanian army has ever fought has reached its tenth clay. It is raging on a hundred mile front. Fluctuations are inevitable. The battle has already proved that the Roumanians are capable of resisting the enemy's most frantic efforts. Mackensen has been compelled to continually bring reinforcements. The Roumanian situation has now been re-established. A typical episode took place at Oituz, where the Roumanians, after squashing the enemy's massed formations, counterattacked, causing terrific losses.
