EARTHQUAKE AND TIDAL WAVE.
SEVERE VISITATION AT SAMOA
(Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, July 10. An earthquake and tidal wave occurred in the Samoa group. They were the severest on record which the group has experienced. At Hapai there were three waves, 14 feet high. No material damage was done. At Keppel Island the visitation was worst. Many native houses were destroyed, and a concrete wharf was carried away. There were no casualties. The shock was not felt at Niuafoo.
