PALMERSTON SALE

Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd./ Palmerston N. } report:— The usual weekly stock sale was held at Palmerston North on the 31st May and was well attended. There was a fairly good entry of sheep, but the quality was hardly up to the usual standard. A fair number of cattle of.useful quality also came forward. The market was somewhat brighter and the bulk of the yarding was disposed of at the following rates: Light, fat and forward ewes 27s 4d to 27s 6d; small Southdown fat lambs 21s lOd; aged ewes in^lamb 23s Id; cull ewes 9s lOd to 11s 7d; medium store lambs 15s to ■17s 9d; small ditto 103 7d to 12s;.poor ditto 9s 8d to 10s Id; cull ditto'6s 9d to tys. Plain fat cows £11 Is; small ordinary store cows £5 to £6 2s 6ddairy cows £9 5s to £11 15s; 3-year old Jersey cross springing heifers 10 gns to £12; small forward heifers £4 12s 6d to £7 Is; small Shorthorn-Here-ford mixed weaners £5.
