This year the Brighton Hurdles looks like a poor field as far as quality is concerned.' The dangerous division 'may be Ulster, Paramahone, Plymouth and Tragedy King, but with- thirteen in the field there is room for a surprise. Hopfield will go out a hot order in the Easter Handicap, but lie will have to gallop to some pu.epose to beat Toatere, The Toff, ami jjorin Up. At the other end of the list Housewife, Tact, or Seadown may effect a surprise. Exclusive has a big field to get through in the Onslow Stakes, five furlongs, and luck will play a big part in the decision of this event.

.• Excellent acceptances have been re-! ceived for the Feilding meeting, which opens on Monday next, and a highly successful gathering seems assured. Most of the fields are large, and tho! horses engaged of good quality. F. Tiiley's establishment will be represented by Endur.e in the Maiden Stakes" and Ly Moutoa Queen in the Mangaone Stakes, and both should run well. Analogue may be a. hot favourite in the' Cup, but there arc some good ones engaged/and Sir Wallocoj Master MoiTtoa, Want, and Pacific Slope are all gopd over the distance.

It seems to me that Arlington has been well treated, on form, by the handicapper in tho Kawa Kawa Hurdles. Leonta may not be quite ready. x Grey Guard jumps so well that he must be dangerous .in any tivent in which he is started during the meetnig.

The Taranaki representatives Clavis! and Inah are reported to be very well, arid they are both smart gallopers. In the Halcombe Welter Glorrfy and Tirana will have an opportunity of proving whether their Bulls form was correct. Iceberg and Wappmg may also take a hand in the settlement of the question.
