+l i£ Seneral committee meeting of the Marton A. and P. Association^ a letter was received from Sir James Wilson returning his prize money of £12 Lls to the-Association, to be devoted to the Lncoln and Shropshire classes at the nest show. A hearty vote of thanks was carried byacclamation Correspondence from the Hawke's f ay Agricultural and Pastoral Society •m reference to holding shows during the the was, was deferred to the annual meeting of members. A bonxis of four guineas was voted Miss Dons Robson for her clerical assistance.
The secretary read an interim bal-ance-sheet showing that the Association had made a profit of about £70 over their last show.
Eulogistic references made to the splendid work done by the president were approrpiately acknowledged. Appreciative references were also made of the work and time devoted by Mr Paul, the Jockey Club's caretaker, in preparing the grounds and superv:smg the work, and a hearty vote of thanks was extended to Mr Paul, also a donation of £3 3s.
The secretary was instructed to send circulars to the mambers who had not paid their sivbscrptions, asking for payment before the«nd of April. The chairman reported that the following prize-winners had leturned thenprize money:—Chas. Wilson 30s, D. Nielson 10s, Edward Newman 255, Peter Nisbet £4 4s, Walter Gray 10s 6d W. H. Gasifcrd £8 8s 3 Flockhouse Estate £3, Sir James G. Wilson £12 12s. Messrs- A. McPherson. and H. Steivart are donating a silver cup for points prize m Shorthorn cattle; Jas. McKelvie offers a special prize of £5 5s in theexport lamb classes, to be awarded upon the Judge's and grader's decision combined.
