Received February 8, 8.25 p.m. MELBOURNE, February 7.

Hon. Tudor informed Mr. Hughes and Mr. Cook that the official Labour Party had declared that it was unable to confer with a view to form ing a National Government. Mr. Hughes, after conferring with Mr. Cook, stated that the way was now clear for the formation of a National Government composed of Ministerialists and Liberals. He awails the Liberals' decision.

On the re-assembling of . Parliament, Mr. Hughes, said he, hoped to be able £o make a statement regarding represehtsffbn at the Imperial Conference within a few days.
