WELLINGTON, Feb. 7. In the Supreme Court, Clara Alicd Boss, James, Eoss;;,'and James Gibbons were charged with the robbery of 70s. from an Italian named Ballone Gavino in v house of ill-fame. Gavino visited the place with some more compatriots. The others lelt s: .and he grew alarmedi at hewing, the accused talking about t|ie possibility of 'his having money. They assaulted him. The female ''accused knelt on his cheat and asked one of the others to pass a knife. A bread knife/Avas handed over, and she nm this along Gayino's throat. Eventually he Struggled free and escaped, sei-iously injured. . H.e found that he had been robbed of 70s. The jury returned a verdict of guilty in respect of assault and causing bodily harm. Mr Justice Chapman nemarked that aJ.I the accused had bad records., Each waV sentenced to three years' hard labour.
