The recitals of 0. J. Dennis's character study, ' "The Sentimen tal Bloke,:' by Mr Lawren.e .Campbell, the wellknown elocticnist iihd entertainer, will be inaugurated under the dii-e tion cf J and N. Tait 3 at the Opera House oa l<'riday evening. The genuine merit and natural whole ome humour, with ■it.,' touches of real pathos and soi;nd philosophy, cannot fa:l to niake an im-ju-ession on all who hear and read "The Sentimental Bloke," and in its review of the book the "Church, Re ord,"'Sydney, says:—"Wholesome, healthy, hmorons, pathetic, and full of real humanity, Are are grateful to the author for having written these songs. They have done us good;'' Mr Campbell ha s always made a, feature of •character sketches, and many in the Dominion will remember, dcring his visit a : tew years a.co, his delisrhtful j sket?h of ' 'Jim Bowker,'' and according to C. J. Dennis, Mr Campbell is his !ideal interpreter of 'The Bloke,'' and this is endorsed by the press of Australia.
