r, (Per Press Association.-) GISBORNE, February, 3, ; When Mr: Stubbing, the employers 3 representative; attended, at noon to-day as customary to engage, labour for work^ ing the steamers Monowai and Arahura on Sunday, no labour was offering. This work Has. hitherto been much sought after, owing to the remuneration of 3s 6d per hour.
The work of loading timber for Sydney on the Joan Craig was suspended at noon to-day, the men declining to work on Saturday p.fternoone. ' WELLINGTON, February 3In' connection with the waterside trouble, an;■ emergency meeting of .-the Harbour Board was held to-day. The business was taken' in committee.
WELLINGTON, February 3The Harbour Board deliberated in committee for nearly two hours, and on resuming in open Board the following resolution, passed in committee, was approved:—"That this Board endorses the action of its representatives in referring ithe recent demands and conditions of the Waterside Workers' Federation to the Conciliation ai > d Arbiratibn Court."
