FREEMAN R. JACKSON AND CO. LTD., STOCK REPORT.
On 18th inst., at Brunswick, we: conducted a clearing sale of dairy cows, etc., on account of Mrs. L. Dean's. We had a good attendance of buyers. The cows being in good order, and considered one of the best herds in the district, elicited keen competition. The line, including heifers, averaged £12 Ss. Numerous sundries and implements sold well.
On 19th inst., a Wanganui sals yards, we offered dairy cows, fat sheep and pigs. We had a goou yarding. Fat sheep somewhat easier. Pigs in good demand and sold at late quotations. A nice line of dairy cows and heifers on account of Mr. C. Duncan elicited keen competition and sold in vendor's favour. We quote: —
At Mrs. Deans' sale. —Best cows £15 10s to £17 os; good cows £13 10s to £15; September calvers £12 5s to £13; others £9 to £11 10s. Heifers £7 17s 6d to £S. Bull £(5 12s 6d. Yearling heifers £3 6s.
On account Webb Bros. —Springing heifers £10 15s to £13 ss. Other vendors' cows, £9 12s 6d to £10; s.f. plough £5 11s; harrows £3 and £3 ss; discs £7 ss. spring cart £11; harness £4 2s 6d to £5; separtaor £5 15s; milic cans (good) 26s to 325; breeding sows £5 2s to £6 3s; bay gelding, £20.
At Wanganui (dairy, pig sale, etc.) —Pigs, heavy porkers £2 9s to £2 12s; stores 23s to 26s 6d; porkers 30s to 365; small stores 16s to 18s; medium do 225. Sheep.—Prime fat ewes 31s 9d, fat ewes 27s 7d to 2 8s; fat "wethers 29s 2d to 33s 6d; mixed fat sheep 255. Cattle. —Light fat heifers £6 18s; fat cows £10 to £10 15s; dairy cows on account of Mr. C. Duncan: best cows £13 to £13 15s, good cows £11 10s to £12, others £9 5s to £10 2s 6d; springing heifers £9 to £19 12s 6d; bulls £10 10s, Other clients cows, £7 10s to £10.
