Received 10.30 p.m. Oct. 1. LONDON, Oct. 1. Official: After three days' fighting we dislodged the Turks from a position on both banks of the Tigris seven miles below Kutulamara. The northern defences were carried by a gallant assault. The Turks fought with the greatest tenacity, and wer* dislodgevl trench by trench. Their losses in d -ad were severe. The Turks fled lo Baghdad and we occupied Kutulamara.

We took 1650 pru m? ?.

The enemy trenches were elaborate, and extended ir.r milts, wiiii fin extensive mine system. Our casualties were 500, mostly slight wounds.
