A wireles* from Berlin states that the United Press of America sought a message from the Kaiser in the moment of his great triumph explaining the basis upon which Germany considered it necessary to secure, peace, and the surest advancement of civilisation. Count Yon Bethmann-Hollweg replied: Germany hopes the victory in Poland will hasten the termination we are fighting for —a peace guaranteeingGermany and her allies such firm safeguards as they neeci for their national future and lasting peace, guaranteeing all nationalities freedom of the oeea.nn to enable them to serve in the work of progress and civilisation by means of free, ..world-wide commerce.
