"COME-ON, THE KING'S.' 3
(An OiScer of the King's Liverpool Regiment writes.)
NORTH FRANCE, March 2G. I am writing to te;l you what 1 can gather of .the action or the 10th. The brigade was ordered to assault the German trenches, following a severe bombardment by the artillery. A. and B. companies of the regiment were detailed for the assault.

Colonel Carter himself is universally said to have behaved with wonderful gallantry, for, though wounded through the shoulder, he refused to come out of the. fight an 3 continued in commpnd during tlte day. Poor Fen iran was killed leading his men —a very sad loss, indeed, to us, but a gallant end. Snatt was shot through the leg, b'lt managed to crawl back. But Madden, .Webb, O'Donoghue, and Young were killed during, the assault, the latter being hitactually on the enemy's wire entanglements. Hayes-Now-ag'bon and seven men were killed by a sh'.?ll One of these w>w a soa of a foivwi-.? officer of the KingV. Wo lost 219,a1l told, of whom 319 are wounded...
