THE DAIRY INDUSTRY

PROPOSED AMALGAMATION AND

CONCENTRATION.

(From our Travelling Reporter.)

The recent cable respecting the superior quality of the Moa factory butter has caused the inquiry, to be made along the Coast why all the factories in the Taranaki district cannot have the same report. It lias now been suggested that it would be for the economical and well as the effective working of the dairy industry if there was a general, scheme of co-operation with large central factories, thus doing away with^some of the heavy expenses incidental to the running of so many factories, skimming (stations, etc. .'' ie products now going out under a diversity of brands would go out as Taranaki," and it is claimed that as a result of amalgamation and concentration the best dairying province south or the Line will come into its own.
