QUARTERMASTER GALWAY'S STATEMENT.

QUEBEC, June 18. Quartermaster Galway, examined, contended that the Empress of Ireland dad not answer her helm properly, when on the last trip out Treat- Galway. admitted that he made a certain suggestion to Mr Haicrht, counsel for the Storstad, at the instance of an unknown fireman connected with the Firemen's Union. Ine suggestion indicated that, the Empress was steering badly.
