RECORD SEIZURE OF OPIUM.
£3000 WORTH SEIZED

A record seizure of opium was made by the Customs officers on board the steamer Ashburton, from London via the Cape., Five hundred pounds, valued at over £5000, were discovered among tho coal. The captain, officers, and crow, a number of whom are Chinese, deny any Knowledge of the drug.
