LADIES' COLUMN

On Monday evening 'Mr and Mrs A. A. Gower gave a delightful social evening in the Fire Brigade Hall., there being between 50 and 60 present. The floor was in excellent order and the music, supplied by Mr Gower, was of the best, while ihs supper left nothing to be desired. During the evening musical items were contributed, which were much appreciated; in fact, a thoroughly enjoyable evening was spent for those who did not care to danca had the opportunity of playing cards and enjoying at the same time the delightful music. Extras were played by Mif-s Jones and Mr Douglas Ball. Invitation 'holders are reminded that Mrs. Gower will hold her first night of the term on Monday evening next, in the. Brigade Hall. Air* Gmver received l>ei guests in in smart black silk gown ivith sequin ninon tunic and tango shaded roses on the corsage, over which she wore an apricot satin coat.
