WANGANUI WOOL, SKINS. HIDES, AND TALLOW SALES.
We held our usual sale- on Thursday, j when Aye offered 41 bales and 68 bags of wool, 2500 skins, 443 hides sand calf skins, 17 casks and 80 tins of tallow, | besides horsehair and cow tails. There was a good attendance of buyers, and | competition was good for all good lines. Wool —Our offering was the usual fellmongers lines, some of it being more than ordinarily seedy. We quote: xbred ! 7%d to 9d, lambs B|d to 9d, dead Bd, I locks and pieces 5d to s£d locks 4|d to ocl, bellies 6£d. | Skins.—Prices were about on a par with last sale rates, here and there J showing a slight advance. Wo quote: j xbreds (>^d to B^d, dead skins 7d, shorts 3-£ to 7d, i avools 7£d to B£d, £ to £ wools 7dd, lambs 7|d to B£d. pelts 3|d to 6£d, i seedy xbred 63d, green xbred 4s 4d each, salted J-avools 4,s 9d, salted £- \ avools 3s 2d to 3s 3d salted xbreds os ! to 7s 9d, salted lambs 2s 6d to 4s 2d, I salted shorts Is 4d.
Hides Avero from an eighth to a farthing better than last sale rates, and competition was good. We quote: Ox hides (heavy) 9 l-8d to 9§d, do. medium B}d to 8 7-Bd, cow hides (good) 8 7-Sd, do. medium 8d to Bgd. bulls hides 6£d, horse hides 3s 9d to, lls, calf skins 9£d to lOg-d, cut and slippy hides 63d to 7 7-Bd, cut and slippy calf skins 8 l-Bd. Tallow.—Casks in shipping condition £26 to £27, and in tins £23 los per ton. Horsehair, Is 6d per pound and cow tails at Is 6d Der dozen.
