MR. PEARCE AND THE LICENSING ACT.

<To the Editor.)

• Sir, —In reply to Mr. L. Wilson re Licensing Act: I did not allude to any Licensing Bill at Aramoho, but I did allude to the Licensing Act of 1910. Evidently Mr Wilson is ignorant of the difference between an Act and a Bill. In committee on the 1910 Act 1 voted in 1 favour of a 55 per cent., majority for ', national prohibition. I don't know why Mr Wilson Avishes to mislead the public by quoting a portion of clause 21 of the , Licensing Act of 1910, which provides a penalty of three months on the second ; conviction not only for "having intoxicating liquor in his possession for sale," ; but also if he imports Or manufactures , it. and I Avould like Mr Wilson to info rm me lioav he is to have it, without importing or manufacturing it, for either of Avhich he is liable to the penalty.- -I am, etc., G. V. PEAROE.
