Professor Prince, Canadian Commissioner of Fisheries, leaves to-morrow morning for Lyttelton in the Hinemoa. Later he goes in that vessel to Foveaux Strait and Stewart Island to investigate the fishing grounds and oyster beds. Afterwards, Mr Prince^^who will be accompanied by Mr L.- FrAyson, Government Inspector of Fisheries, will go to other *fishing grounds of the Dominion. Professor Prince believes the herring should be nxade to play an important part in the New 'Zealand fishing industry and he will endeavour to devise a means of introducing the herring to our coastal wiatens. By this means, the quality of fish generally will be improved as the presence of the herring attracts other fish.
