FIRE BRIGADES' CONFERENCE.

HASTINGS, April 13. The conference of the United District Fire Brigades' Association concluded last night, when the following officers were elected for the ensuing year:— President, Deputy-Superintendent Perrett (.Wanganui); Vice-Presidents, Supt. Hillson (Napier), Supt. Nuttall (Dannevirke), Supt. McTaggart (Levin) and Sub-Supt. Logan (Wapuikurau); Secretary, Foreman R. Henderson (Hastings) ; Treasure!', Supt. Brausch (Hast* ings); Auditor, Mr L. F. Pegler (Hastings). _ Competitions were continued on Cornwall Park to-day in beautiful weather. Results: —• Coupling Championship (on© man) — Hastings A (31 l-ssecs) 1, Hastings C (33 4-ssecs) 2, Hastings B (35secs) 3. Sixty-eight competitors. Hose and Hydrant (five men) —First price £12 and Shield (valued at £15 15s), second prize £7 10s, third prize £s—Dannevirke5 —Dannevirke (27 l-ssecs) 1, Wanganui (28 l-ssecs) 2± Carterton (29secs) 3 Seventeen teams competed. Hose. Reel and Ladder (five men); first prize £15. second £10, third £5 — Wanganui A (33 2-ssecs) 1, Dannevirke A (34secs) 2, Spit A (34 4-osecs) 3. Fifteen teams competed. Hose and Hydrant (three men), first prize £5, second £3, third £1 10s — Dannevirke A (30secs) 1, Wianganui A (30 2-ssecs) 2, Masterton A (34 1-osecs) 3 Thirty-one teams competed. Rescue Event (two men), first prize £3 and medals, second £2, third £1 —• Taihape A 1, Wanganui D 2, Hastings A 3. Seven teams competed.
