A SIX DAY WEEK.
AGITATION EN WELLINGTON
(Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, April 6. The granting of a. six-day week to the Wellington hotel-workers had the effect of livening up the agitation for an extension of the principle t» other sevenday occupations. The members of the police force and the Wellington gas and icoke .workers to-day approached the Wellington Trades and Labour Council with a view to instituting a campaign for the securing of the concession. Ihe Wellington Hotel Employees' Union is now taking steps to apply the six-da> week to the local private hotels, restaurants, and tea-rooms. The hotelkeepers propose to increase their tariffs by not less than one shilling per day to meet the increased charges imposed through the award. A meeting will be hell on Thursday afternoon to decide the matter. „____
