In a short paper before the section of bacteriology, pathology and tropical medicine this morning, Professor Champtalouip (of the Otago University) gave an account of an interesting discovery of sporotrichosis, which causes tuberculosis of the kidneys, which was (made in Auckland by Mr Armitage. It was the first case of the kind in New Zealand, and it is extremely rare elsewhere. It is thought the. condition is possibly due to eating decayed fruit 3 on wihich the fungus occurs.
